Parent Small Group To Begin – Sun. Feb. 2, 2014
Staring on Sunday, February 2, I will be leading a small group for parents during the education hour in the chapel. This group is intended for parents of children of any change—from toddlers to teenagers—and, unlike a formal Bible study, will be interactive and casual, covering topics that are important to parents trying to raise faithful daughters and sons.
My hope is that it will provide parents with time and space for mutual support, conversation and idea-sharing. For example, the parents of teenagers can share their experience and advice with the parents of pre-teens. We’ll be covering a variety of topics, too, such as online safety to helping your children cope with peer pressure—and, on occasion, we’ll invite guest speakers to join us who are knowledgeable and skilled in these areas.
I’m especially interested to hear from parents themselves about the subjects they’d like to explore and learn more about, so please share your thoughts with me as February nears. Until then, help to spread the word and invite your fellow parents who are friends and neighbors to join us! May God bless us as we strive together to raise children who will “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3.18).
