St. John’s, together with Grace United Methodist and Immanuel United Church of Christ, is excited to announce our plans for Vacation Bible School this summer. Scheduled for July 7-11 from 6-8:30p at Grace (516 Shinnick St.), the VBS theme this year is Kingdom Rock, where children (ages preschool-5th grade) “enter the epic adventure that empowers them to stand strong. Here, God’s victorious power isn’t a fairy tale—it changes kids forever.”

Children will explore God’s word in lively, interactive ways, and each day one simple Bible truth is introduced through a story and verse, such as King David writing about God’s love in Psalm 23 and a focus on Psalm 18.1: “I love you Lord; you are my strength.”

Kingdom Rock is also unique because it uses the R.E.A.L. approach to learning—or lessons that are Relational Experiential Applicable and Learner-Based. In this approach, children move through activity stations that are intentionally-designed to reinforce the daily Bible point in a hands-on, interactive way. Stations will likewise appeal to children with a variety of interests, from science to art to drama to games.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact the chair of the Learning Team, Mari Frick.

Remember, in the Kingdom kids stand strong for God!
